Rickardo Ducent, Popularly known as Rikrok, is an English Jamaican Singer, songwriter, and Record Producer. He was born on June 17, 1972. He is Most famous for his appearance in the music video for Shaggy’s 2000 single “It Wasn’t Me.”

Rickardo George Ducent was born in London on the 17th of June 1972. His parents transitioned from Jamaica to England in the 60s In search of greener pastures.

“When I was growing up it was pretty much Jamaican people who came over. My father was a big reggae fan, especially of Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, and Dennis Brown. He had a big record collection and on Sundays, he would play music all day at home.”
In 1983, Rikrok returned to Jamaica with his family. Immediately after he got there, he started attending Manchester High School In Mandeville, Jamaica.
It was during his high school days that he discovered his singing gift. He also realized he had a flair for songwriting.
Rikrok said, “One day I was listening to Babyface’s Tender Lover album and he thought about writing songs.” So he wrote a song, put it down, went back to it, and tried several till it finally made sense.
After that, he wrote many songs. He admitted that he wasn’t good at writing at first because some of them were stupid.
Rikrok Never dreamt of entering the music business. Rikrok went to Jamaica’s University of the West Indies after graduating from high school (UWI). He joined Patra’s backing vocalists in 1995.
He returned to UWI to finish his education after that tour ended. Rikrok was offered a songwriting deal by Shaggy’s manager, Robert Livingston, after a brief stint performing with the Jamaican R&B/reggae vocal quartet Lust. On his home computer, he would compose songs and create rhythms, then send demos to Livingston in New York.
The song “It Wasn’t Me” was one of the biggest Hits between 2000 and 2001. He also performed to a stadium-sized crowd. As of then, Over 12 Million copies have been sold worldwide. This brought more of an International fan base to His career.
